Post Primary Admission Criteria & Online Application Process - Crucial Information!

The admissions criteria of post primary schools is available online via the Education Authority Website (https://www.eani.org.uk/parents/admissions/search-post-primary-admissions-criteria) 

It is crucial to view the admissions criteria for all schools you wish to apply to.  It is particularly important this year as many schools have made significant changes to their criteria.

Viewing this now will allow you time to collect and prepare for upload, any information which is required in the admissions criteria of the schools you intend to nominate.

A copy of your child’s birth certificate should be uploaded with your online application, as this is required by all schools. You will be able to see what other documents you will be required to upload, when viewing the admissions criteria online.  You need to upload the documents requested by your FIRST CHOICE school.  To upload your documents you can simply take a photograph and attach it at the time of application or shortly afterwards.  Some schools may also require proof of address e.g. bank statement / utility bill etc.

The application process for P7 children transferring to post primary school in September 2021 has moved online.

You can apply online via the EA website between 12.00 noon on Monday 1 March 2021 and 4 pm on Tuesday 16 March 2021. 

When completing the online application remember to include how your child meets the criteria e.g.

• Pupil A applied for the AQE/GL assessment (stating their candidate number etc)
• Pupil A is the eldest in the family (they will check this with primary schools data)
• Pupil A has a brother/sister currently attending the school in Year 11  (they check their own system)
• School A is the closest Post Primary School to Pupil A etc (you may need to upload proof of address)

If you would like to arrange a meeting with myself to discuss the application process/form, then please email me as soon as possible (kdickson628@c2kni.net) and we can organise a meeting.  It would be useful if you could also tell me in the email the name of the schools you wish to nominate.  You are encouraged to nominate at least 4 schools.

If you are happy enough to complete the form by yourself without a meeting with myself, then please proceed with the online application beginning on 1st March.

You do not need to email me if you don't want a meeting, as I will be able to see who has seen this message via the website statistics in messaging.  If I notice someone hasn't read it, I will be in touch to ensure no one misses this important information.
